Since I was pulling the carb to do a thorough cleaning, I decided to yank the white spacer I've heard about so much and give that a try. At the same time I also installed a supertrapp. I have a '95 "California Model" Savage (the California model reroutes fumes from the tank back to the carb -something like that). Anyway, after all was done, the engine started nicely, idled well, (but couldn't get any improvement from the mixture screw after removing the brass plug (see I have been reading these posts...):) but top speed is now about 40+ mph. performance is horrible. Previously, with no mods, top speed was 90+. go figure. I tried various configurations with the discs but no improvement (currently have in all 8). I also installed a new air filter. I just thought I would try and see if anyone had any suggestions to try before I yank the carb again and re-install the spacer? Thanks in advance.
G.
